Did you know that International Women’s Day traces its roots back to March 8th, 1908 when 15,000 women marched through the streets of New York standing up for their rights? The goal; gender quality, celebrating women’s achievements and inspiring each other. Fast forward to 2018 and International Women’s Day is bigger than ever. Cities across the world are now celebrating this very special day.
One of my favorite things about being in the skincare business is that I get to meet women from all walks of life. I have the privilege of listening to concerns, sharing stories, and even building friendships along the way. The skincare industry is a real sisterhood and it holds a powerful bond. It allows women to be vulnerable, sharing concerns they might not otherwise reveal about themselves. A true sense of honesty. I feel a deep sense of gratitude that Sakoré allows me to offer a healthy solution to women’s skincare needs.
Since starting Sakoré Skincare, I’ve had the opportunity to attend women in business meetings, trade shows and farmers markets. Along the way, I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with some remarkable women in business. They are creators, entrepreneurs, and boss ladies extraordinaires. One that stands out, The Momma Collective started by Sarah Dhooge. This event brings together a group of local handmade artisans. Not only does it feature local (which I absolutely love!) but it showcases women and momma-entrepreneurs. Whether you’re attending the event as a vendor or guest, you are guaranteed to leave feeling inspired.
In honour of International Women’s Day, today we celebrate you and all the amazing women!
